The Philip Experiment -or- How to Conjure an Imaginary Ghost

In 1972 a group of experimenters from the Toronto Society for Psychical Research set out to see what would happen if you tried to summon a ghost in a seance, but with the total knowledge that that particular ghost – Philip Aylesford – never existed, was never a real, living person, and instead was an entirely fictional character, akin to a character in any other roleplaying game.

What they found is that the same thing happens as if you try to summon a real ghost – indicating that it may be the case that all so-called ghost phenomena are in fact psychokinesis generated by the living humans who are present.
